Now this is exciting news! Amazon already offers a Kindle app for your iPhone. The app enables you to download e-books and periodicals to your iPhone from Amazon’s Kindle store. You do not need to own a Kindle reader, just use your iPhone instead. According to CNET news, soon you will be able to do the same thing with your PC.
Like the iPhone app, Kindle for PC turns your PC into another reading device that can be linked to a Kindle account (you don’t have to own a Kindle to set up a Kindle account). You can then choose to send Kindle e-books and periodicals to your PC via a wired or wireless network connection. Also, you can read an e-book on your PC while at home (or elsewhere), then send that same e-book to your iPhone or Kindle and pick up reading where you left off.
This offers so many possibilities for so many people. I’ll definitely take advantage of this app when it becomes available, especially on my laptop while traveling. The app will be compatible with Windows 7 as well as Windows Vista and Windows XP.

I love my Kindle for the iPod Touch. When I am traveling it is so convenient. I don’t have to lug a lot of books with me — just my Touch which fits in my bag or even in my pocket.
Can’t wait until this is released! Thank you for sharing the link to sign up for the alert. I’m watching my email like a hawk and can’t wait to test drive this new toy.
