Repeating tweets is controversial, but I think it makes total sense, especially the way Guy explained it. I think Guy is very very smart.

Also, I want to point out that Guy delivers tremendous value. He tweets incredibly useful stuff, and a huge variety of stuff. So lots of tweets go by in between something he repeats. It's not like he repeats the same thing 5 times a day, day in and day out, with no other value delivered in between.

Now, am I ready to start tweeting all my tweets four times each? No. But I do occasionally repeat something, especially if it was something that I tweeted on the weekend and didn't think many people saw. Or I may tweet a couple of times about upcoming events. And I have discovered that the second time I tweet something, often it gets more clicks and retweets, than the first time I mentioned it. So that tells me a lot of people missed the tweet the first time -- proving Guy's point.

Guy Kawasaki's has a powerhouse of microblogging activities. The tweet messages are going to his site (powered by Posterous) and then to outgoing links to other places.

You know, the repetition of tweets is something I've tried with much success, too. At first, it doesn't make sense, but when you realize that it captures different audiences each time, it's more understandable. Twitter is a different universe and we're only starting to explore how best to navigate it!
