monitor your business forum to avoid a lawsuit

Writer Dave Thomas points out that lack of forum moderating can lead to unhappy competitors if they find out your forum members are bashing them negatively.  Thus, suing you and your business for defamation.  So to avoid this sticky situation, head over to Bloggertone to read Dave’s thoughts on the topic.

This is certainly a news to me. Never thought that Forums can lead to so much of troubles if ignored. Thanks for the share…

I use forums for a completely different purpose. A closed, unindexed forum, specifically as a knowledge sharing venue for our franchisees. It allows us to create a knowledgebase, and discuss marketing and other business issues easily, and it keeps it in a format that means those conversations are recorded there for new franchisees later along the lines.

Forums are a great medium, particularly if you can be flexible in your approach to them.
