1. Slack

Slack is the most popular team communication app out on the market. It allows you to create groups (they call them channels) where you can message anyone in that channel or send a private message to one person. You can also upload pictures/documents and send them to your team. What Slack has done is allow users to eliminate emails and run all of their business communication in one place.

2. Asana

Asana is a project management tool where you can keep track of projects/tasks and assign team members to tasks. It makes it easy to know who’s responsible for what and what next steps are. Features include: keep track of projects, tasks, and sub-tasks, convert tasks to projects, view a list of tasks on your calendar, use a dashboard to check the progress on all projects you are interested in and get automated updates.

3. Buffer

This is a social media scheduling app that will help you save time posting to your social media channels like Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. You can schedule all of your posts days in advance which will allow you to look active to your customers on a regular basis. The tool also gives you some analysis on your posts as to how many were liked or shared and give you the ability to re-schedule them again if you wish.

Fiverr is an online freelance marketplace, their tagline is “freelance services for the lean entrepreneur”. If money is tight then Fiverr would be a good option for you. It allows you to find affordable freelancers to help with projects in a range of categories e.g., logo design, digital marketing, translation, voice over and much more.

Rev is a voice recorder, audio and video transcription tool offered at a reasonable price. You can transcribe your meetings/courses/speeches with clients, vendors, or team members and get it delivered to your inbox. Like traditional vendors, they rely on a network of freelancers and use technology to offer quality, speed, and value. They offer video/audio transcription, captions, and subtitles for videos, and documents translation.

6. IFTTT

IFTTT stands for “If This, Then That” and it’s a free tool that enables you to integrate and connect your favorite web services like Facebook, Gmail, Calendar, Slack, etc. Some examples of what you can do with IFTTT: save new email attachments from Gmail to Google Drive, automatically post a calendar reminder to a Slack channel for your team to be notified about an event, or save the Tweets you like on Twitter to a Google Spreadsheet.

Receipt Bank is an expense tracking software that lets you automate bookkeeping by taking a picture of your receipt or invoice via your phone and send it to the Receipt Bank cloud software which can then extract the information and publish it to Xero, Quickbooks, or any other online accounting application you use. It also imports from tools like Dropbox, TripCatcher, or MyFirmsApp directly into the Receipt Bank application.

Pocket is an app that lets you save an article or video so you can view it later using your phone or any other device even when you don’t have an internet connection. As a business owner you are always reading articles or watching videos to help grow your business but sometimes you just don’t have time to finish it or you stumble upon something interesting when you are online but no time to read or watch it, this app allows you to view it at a later time.
